Navagraha Exploration – Planet Saturn
12th September 2026
Join us for an online session dedicated to the qualities of the planet Saturn, featuring insights from Vedic astrology with Sara, as well as mantra chanting, yantra drawing, and painting with Antarshuddhi.
Navagraha Exploration
Navagraha Exploration is an exquisite one-year journey through the nine planets visible to the naked eye, and, ultimately, a journey within ourselves too. This series offers a monthly session (except July and August) beginning in January, where we explore each planet through the lens of Jyotiṣa (Vedic/Indian astrology) while connecting with the sacred practices of mantra and yantra. The series will end with an integration session at the end of the year (December). Although the course stretches during the whole year, you can book single sessions or the replay of already past sessions.
This month’s session is dedicated to Saturn, known in Sanskrit as Śani, meaning “the one who moves slowly”. Perhaps it is this very slowness that makes Saturn the most feared of all the planets. In a world that rarely pauses, Śani teaches us the value of stillness. He reveals what we might overlook amid constant motion, bringing us into the present moment, face-to-face with what we may resist seeing or feeling.
Saturn – Stability, Refinement, Non-Attachment
Saturn — the farthest visible planet in our solar system — carries a slow, cold, and dry nature, shaping the deeper, more challenging dimensions of human experience.
Often regarded as the most malefic planet and the ruler of darkness, Saturn governs the shadow side of our nature, guiding us through limitation, discipline, and the tests that refine inner strength.
Despite his austere influence, Saturn’s positive qualities are profound: wisdom, moral clarity, sincerity, justice, non-attachment, longevity, and the capacity for leadership and steady organisation. Associated with the Air element, Saturn rules the skin, bones, teeth, nails, hair, and the nervous system, anchoring us into structure, responsibility, and the reality of time.
In Vedic numerology, Saturn is connected with the number 8, which is also the psychic number of those born on the 8th, 17th or 26th of any month.
Join us on Saturday, 26th September, Saturn’s day, for a special session dedicated to Śani, featuring astrological insights, mantra chanting, and the creation of his sacred geometrical form, the yantra, as we connect deeply with his grounding and transformative energy.
Saturn Yantra and Mantra
Yantras are sacred tantric diagrams, often seen as the materialised vibration of a mantra. Traditionally, they are practiced in combination with their respective mantra, as these sound vibrations are believed to heal, harmonise, and awaken the body on a subtle level. Mantras resonate with one’s physio-mental system, serving as a powerful vehicle for activating deeper inner forces and guiding individuals on the path to self-realisation.
During this three-hour online sādhana, we will create the Saturn Yantra by drawing it and charging it through mantra chanting, allowing us to connect with, balance, and support our personal Saturn energy. You will also receive guidance on colours and painting techniques to complete your yantra in your own time.
Saturn invites us to hold space for the unwanted, to recognise the passage of time, and to rediscover the beauty of slowing down and enjoy this process.
Drawing and painting the Saturn Yantra is suitable for anyone drawn to it – particularly those born on a number 8 day or those seeking to harmonise and strengthen Saturn-related qualities within themselves.
When placed in a chosen space, the yantra can stimulate non-attachment, wisdom, sincerity, discrimination and success for both the observer and the surrounding environment.
