Navagraha Exploration – Rahu
5th October 2026

Join us for an online session dedicated to the qualities of the lunar node Rahu, featuring insights from Vedic astrology with Sara, as well as mantra chanting, yantra drawing, and painting with Antarshuddhi.

Navagraha Exploration

Navagraha Exploration is an exquisite one-year journey through the nine planets visible to the naked eye, and, ultimately, a journey within ourselves too. This series offers a monthly session (except July and August) beginning in January, where we explore each planet through the lens of Jyotiṣa (Vedic/Indian astrology) while connecting with the sacred practices of mantra and yantra. The series will end with an integration session at the end of the year (December). Although the course stretches during the whole year, you can book single sessions or the replay of already past sessions.

The next two sessions of our yearly series will focus on the lunar nodes – Rahu (Rāhu) and Ketu, the north and south nodes of the Moon. Unlike the other planets, they have no physical form, existing instead as mathematical points in space, often called the shadow planets, and therefore more difficult to understand. As they are connected with the Moon, we have chosen Monday as the day of the session in which the Moon’s energy is more prominent.

Rahu – Courage, Art, Intelligence

Rahu represents our desire to be born, the restless impulse that drives growth, change, and transformation in life. Ketu, its counterpart, embodies release and liberation, guiding us inward toward detachment and spiritual insight.

Rahu and Ketu are positioned 180 degrees apart. They are non-material lunar points, representing the bipolar nature of the human psyche and its shifting emotional currents. Always retrograde and never fixed in space, they function as subtle forces directing the evolution of consciousness. Rahu expresses the impulse toward embodiment – the desire that propels growth, change, and worldly experience – while Ketu holds the energy of release, detachment, and inner liberation.

Rāhu, the northern node, is a shadow planet that stirs the restless, disruptive dimensions of the mind, often amplifying desire, confusion, and the pull toward illusion or excess.

Yet its power is profoundly ambivalent: alongside its malefic tendencies, Rahu carries the potential for transformation through unconventional intelligence, artistic skill in painting and writing, physical attractiveness, courage, and the ability to perceive truth from a unique, penetrating perspective.

Associated with Wind and Fire, Rahu influences the subtle mental currents, pushing awareness beyond ordinary boundaries and urging us to explore the uncharted territories of both the psyche and the world.

In Vedic numerology, Rahu is connected with the number 4, which is also the psychic number of those born on the 4th, 13th, 22nd, or 31st of any month.

Rahu Yantra and Mantra

Yantras are sacred tantric diagrams, often seen as the materialised vibration of a mantra. Traditionally, they are practiced in combination with their respective mantra, as these sound vibrations are believed to heal, harmonize, and awaken the body on a subtle level. Mantras resonate with one’s physio-mental system, serving as a powerful vehicle for activating deeper inner forces and guiding individuals on the path to self-realization.

During this three-hour online sādhana, we will create the Rahu yantra by drawing it and charging it through mantra chanting, allowing us to connect with, balance, and support our personal Rahu energy. You will also receive guidance on colours and painting techniques to complete your yantra in your own time.

When placed in a chosen space, the yantra can stimulate courage, patience, intelligence, acquiring different perspectives and creative expression for both the observer and the surrounding environment.

Join us on Monday, 5 October, as we delve into the mystery of Rahu, exploring one of our deepest shadows through deep insight of astrology, mantra, and the meditative practice of yantra drawing.
