Ganesh is the remover of obstacles and helps to create harmony and ease in ones life. I combined his yantra with a mandala design made from an ancient number grid, named the Vedic square, choosing the number 8, which is connected to Saturn. Saturn is the farthest planet from Earth and has slow, cold and dry nature. He is considered the most malefic planet and is the planet of darkness, ruling over the dark side of human nature but his positive effects can be wisdom, awareness of right and wrong, sincerity, honesty, love of justice, non-attachment, long-life, fame, authority, leadership and organizational abilities. He rules over the nails, hairs, teeth, bones, skeleton, skin, nervous system and the element Air.

Saturn’s colours are black, dark blue, grey and purple and that is the overall feeling from the colours I have chosen as well. During the whole process of creation I have chanted and charged this painting with the Saturn mantra.
