According to Harish Johari in the Vedic numerology the Moon is attributed to the number 2. On the personal level 2 is the psychic number of the people born on day 2, 11, 20, or 29 of any month. This mandala is appropriate to anyone attracted to it, is born on those days or wishing to harmonize or strengthen the Moon element in their personality.

Ganesh is the remover of obstacles and helps to create harmony and ease in ones life. I combined that with a mandala design made from an ancient number grid named the Vedic square, choosing the number 2, which is connected to the Moon. Ganesha‘s yantra works in this painting as a mediator for harmonizing the personal energies with the universal energy of the Moon. The Moon is attributed to swadisthana chakra and rules the emotions, the unconscious, the Water element and its colours are the „moon“-colour or white, light green, blue, cream, silver or „grape“-colour and that is the overall feeling you get from the colours I have chosen.

During the whole process of creation I have chanted and charged this painting with the Moon mantra.
I applied in this painting the “wash”-technique by the Tantric artist Harish Johari and the above information about the Vedic numerology is based on his book Numerology (1990).
